Interview with Mr Reveley
We sat down with Mr Reveley to discuss his new role, his vision for LEH Foshan, and the experiences that have shaped his educational philosophy.
Q Welcome to LEH Foshan, Mr Reveley! Could you start by sharing what draws you to LEH Foshan?
I am really excited to join LEH Foshan and extremely happy to be part of an excellent, growing school community with the 8C’s at the core of its ethos. These values are traits that both staff and students should aspire to. I was initially drawn to the school because it is at such an exciting stage in its development, and I want to be able to contribute to its continued success.
Q You have a rich background in both UK and international education. How do these diverse experiences influence your approach to your new role at LEH Foshan?
Having taught in the UK for 13 years, and internationally for the last 11 years, I have an excellent understanding of how the British education system can benefit students from across the world. Education needs to be bespoke and appropriate for the context of both the students and the school community, and this always underpins my approach to teaching and learning. In an ever more complex world, I think it is important that students develop their critical thinking skills, that they are willing to take risks and then learn from their mistakes. In my role as Director of Studies I will utilise my experiences to ensure the best outcomes for our community here at LEH.

Q With your extensive experience in leadership roles, what are some of the key strategies you intend to implement to support our students and staff in achieving academic excellence?
As Director of Studies, I will be reviewing the systems and structures at LEH to identify any opportunities to refine learning and teaching and ensure that we fulfil the needs and aspirations of all our students. We pride ourselves on academic excellence here at LEH, and I will use data to identify any areas for development and improve what we do. Constant review, analysis, and evaluation are key to success, and this approach will be at the heart of my work at LEH.
Q Finally, what are you most looking forward to in your time at LEH Foshan, both in terms of your professional role and your engagement with the wider school community?
I am really looking forward to working with an excellent team of professional staff and a talented body of students. I aim to be involved in all aspects of the LEH community and look forward to meeting and working with everyone in the coming months. On a personaI level I am excited to be here in China and interested to further explore the Foshan and Guangzhou area. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole LEH community, who have been so welcoming to both me and my wife in the last few weeks since we arrived. I am excited to get started at LEH and look forward to helping everyone achieve their goals.
