‘Moments of Reflection’- works by Nemanja Jovanovic

We are honoured to present our inaugural art exhibition, Moments of Reflection, by our talented new art teacher, Mr Nemanja Jovanovic, a Serbian artist based in China.

Moments of Reflection invites you on an immersive journey through a collection of artworks that explore the intricate relationships between nature, family, and cultural heritage, with a special focus on Serbian and Chinese traditions. The exhibition offers a rich tapestry of paintings that delve into themes such as motherhood, nostalgia, and the serene beauty of the natural world.

Serbian culture is beautifully represented through intimate scenes that highlight family connections and traditions, reflecting the warmth of days long gone and the significance of rituals. In contrast, the exhibition also delves into the serene elegance of Chinese architecture, showcasing how these architectural forms harmonise with nature, evoking a sense of tranquillity and reflection. Each piece encourages contemplation, inviting viewers to connect with their own experiences and cultural identities. Through this exhibition, we celebrate the quiet beauty of everyday moments, the profound ties of family, and the enduring allure of both natural landscapes and architectural marvels of East and West.

Meet the Artist

We are delighted to welcome Mr Jovanovic to our visual arts teaching team. He has over 15 years of international experience, having taught in both Serbia and China. He holds a Master of Arts from the Art Academy in Serbia and various teaching certifications, including A Level, BTEC, IB PYP, IB MYP, and TEFL.

I am excited about the opportunity to inspire creativity in students at LEH Foshan and foster their artistic talents. I look forward to collaborating with fellow educators and engaging with the diverse student body, encouraging them to express themselves through art. I am eager to contribute to the school's vibrant community and support students in developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through creative projects. I chose LEH Foshan because of its strong commitment to academic excellence and holistic education. The school's focus on fostering both intellectual development and creativity resonates with my teaching philosophy. I believe that LEH provides an excellent platform for me to make a meaningful impact on student lives while continuing to grow as an educator.

As a Serbian artist now based in China, Mr Jovanovic’s work explores themes of time, tradition, and cultural heritage. His paintings aim to capture moments, preserving time within the canvas much like a musical composition holds harmony. His technique, starting with delicate, nostalgic strokes, builds dynamic layers that create a rich, textured interaction on the canvas.
Mr Jovanovic began his artistic journey in childhood, formally developing his skills at Art High School and the Serbian State Faculty of Visual Arts. His work has been featured in over 100 exhibitions worldwide, with participation in more than 50 international art symposiums and residencies.

Join us to celebrate the grand opening of The Holles Gallery and immerse yourself in the paintings and drawings by Mr Nemanja Jovanovic. We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of art, culture, and reflection at LEH Foshan!
