We have had a fabulous fortnight here in Phoenix House. Mr Jones, Matron and I have observed the students’ excitement grow as we approach the forthcoming New Year celebrations.
This month we have been focusing on Creativity as our chosen feature of the 8C’s. To embrace this, we ran a competition to decorate the notice boards above students’ beds; there were some beautiful creations; well done to Joanna, Year 7, for her winning board!
Winnie, Year 11, also put together a Lego phoenix for our boarding house! Its wings move too!
We have started working on a small garden for our outdoor area on Floor 5; the students appreciated working with Mr Cairnie to plant a selection of colourful flowers!
We also built some beautiful dancing lions out of Lego during the evenings.
We enjoyed working with Mrs Chapman and Mrs Farnsworth to construct some jaw-dropping lanterns.
Exercise is an integral part of our weekend programme at LEH; we have been working on our badminton skills for the last two weeks.
