On the 26th and 27th of March, our highly anticipated school production of Annie came to a triumphant close. This spectacular performance would not have been possible without the dedication of Mr Smale (Producer and Musical Director), Mrs Kingsley-Mills (Director), the tireless efforts of the entire cast, and the support of all staff involved.
Annie is a heartfelt story brimming with hope, reminding us that no matter how tough life gets, “the sun will come out tomorrow.” At its core, it is a tale of resilience, optimism, and finding joy even in adversity. Annie’s unwavering belief in a brighter future is an inspiration to us all—whether we’re on stage or navigating life’s challenges. The musical’s message resonates deeply with our 8C values, especially Compassion, and beautifully reflects our school motto: Hope Favours the Bold.

It has been an absolute joy to witness our students grow in confidence and develop their musical theatre skills throughout this journey. Seeing them embrace their roles, refine their talents, and support one another has been truly inspiring.
One of the most exciting aspects of working on Annie Junior has been immersing ourselves in the music of the 1930s. The score is full of vibrant and heart-wrenching orchestrations and the songs play a crucial role in bringing the story to life.

Bringing this production to life has been no small feat. Playing Warbucks has given me the opportunity to step outside of myself and truly become someone else on stage. I have loved putting my own twist on the character, exploring his personality, and learning more about acting and singing in the process.
It was very rewarding to see all the planning, rehearsals, and teamwork culminate in bringing Annie's inspiring story to life on stage. While the final curtain has fallen, the spirit of optimism, courage, and solidarity it fostered continues to live on.
We are confident that this large-scale production has left a lasting impression on our students, equipping them with greater confidence and resilience to face life’s future challenges.
