Meet the New LEHF Parent Committee

Meet the New LEHF Parent Committee

As the school grows, LEH International School Foshan understands that parents play an ever-increasingly important role in the upbringing and education of children, and values parent participation as a critical component to creating a conducive and engaging learning environment.
We are delighted to announce the recent appointment of the new LEH Foshan 2022-2023 Parent Committee. The key role of the committee is to further enhance parent-school communication and reinforce home-school collaboration. The Parent Committee is a group of parents nominated and selected by all current parents in the school to represent and share their views effectively to the school.

Meet our Parent Committee

The Roles of Parent Committee

  • To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming environment that is inclusive, respectful and supportive
  • To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the students
  • To plan and lead community activities for all members and increase parents’ engagement in school events
  • To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the students

First Parent Committee Meeting

This week saw LEHF 2022-2023 Parent Committee’s first meeting. The school’s Senior Leadership Team, including Mrs Jane Arden, our Headteacher worked with the Committee to set out its goals and objectives, and to discuss how to promote parental involvement and support school improvement.
Communication and community were the key focuses of this meeting. Both sides exchanged thoughts on ensuring all parents are included in the communication with the school, and explored ideas on building effective feedback channels for parents. And in order to promote a closely-nit school community, the Committee agreed to motivate and engage parents in supporting the planning, implementation and participation of upcoming school and community events, such as Open Days, Winter Market and other charity events.

Comment from our Parent Liaison
Ms Selina Chen, PA to Headteacher, will act as the parent liaison. And she commented that it was an exciting moment to meet the newly appointed Parent Committee. "The Parent Committee will provide open and accessible opportunities for efficient dialogues and enhance the triangular relationships between students, parents and the school. We welcome all committee members on board with their overwhelming passion for helping the school grow. Together we will make LEH Foshan an outstanding school and a vibrant international community."

We would like to thank all members of the Parent Committee for their commitment and support. In the school year 2022-2023, LEH Foshan looks forward to working with the Committee and all parents to ensure our school is a place of community and care, placing our students at the centre of all our efforts towards their future.
