From 3rd to 7th March 2025, LEH Foshan celebrated World Book Week with boundless enthusiasm. The entire campus was immersed in a vibrant reading atmosphere, where students explored the joy of literature and the power of knowledge through various of activities, including a much-anticipated dress-up day.
The event of World Book Week 2025 was divided into five main sections. There was enthusiastic participation of students and teachers from the Prep School as well as the Secondary School, with each student reading their favorite book and participating in their favorite activity.
Expanding Horizons: A Treasure Trove of Books
Since its opening, our prep and secondary school libraries have welcomed hundreds of new titles every year to their collections, over 600 new books only in the past year.
For this year’s World Book Week, in collaboration with Sino-Commercial Trading Co., LTD and Guangzhou Books Centre Foshan Branch, we curated an inspiring book fair featuring more than 700 books across three themed sections: Secondary Books, Prep Books and Foreign Language Books (including Spanish, Chinese and other languages). From children’s magazines to art, music, science, humanities, and sports, the exhibition offered something for every curious mind, inviting students to dive into worlds both familiar and undiscovered.
Shared Stories, Shared Joy
As the ancient saying goes, "Within books lies a house of gold." The moment the book fair opened, students eagerly lost themselves in the magic of storytelling. Beyond solitary reading, we also hosted sharing sessions in the dens in Prep classrooms and at the library entrance, whether it is a paper book or an e-book, we provide a channel for sharing. We encourage students to read a wide variety of books, and we encourage them to share and exchange ideas about their favorite books.

Dress-up Day: Where Literature Comes Alive
The excitement arrived on 7th March with Dress-up Day. On this day, students and teachers interacted with each other by imitating characters from their favorite books and dressing up as them. This was undoubtedly the most interesting part of the day for the students, as they dressed up early in the morning, dressed as their favorite characters, mimicked their manner of speaking and tone of voice, and had a great time interacting with other teachers and students. Dress-up Day is a classic part of World Book Week of LEH Foshan, in which students are able to get to know their characters better, deepen their understanding of the storyline, and further hone their social skills.

Building Futures by Reading
From the tireless librarians to the enthusiastic teachers and students, every individual contributed to the World Book Week. As our Headteacher Mrs Jane Arden often reminds us, "LEH Foshan encourages students to grow into dynamic young adults, fearless in their outlook, and helps them to be world-ready and future-ready." The point of World Book Week is for students to expand their horizons, find their heart's desire, and become a more well-rounded person through the process of reading. Let’s keep turning pages together!
