LEH Foshan ECAs - Enrich Growth Experience at British International School

As we embrace the new term at LEH Foshan, our education continues to extend far beyond academics and the classroom walls. This is brought to life by our exciting new set of extra-curricular activities for both Prep and Secondary School. This term’s expanded programme offers students a wealth of fresh opportunities to pursue passions, develop new life skills, and forge lasting friendships. Our Termly ECA Fairs 

To help students make informed choices about their extra-curricular involvement, we host a termly ECA Fair, a much-anticipated event for our school community. This important moment provides a comprehensive showcase of our large variety of offerings, allowing students to meet teachers and club leaders, ask questions, and experience the diverse options firsthand. Parents are also welcomed to attend, joining their children in exploring the exciting opportunities available each term.

ECA Coordinator

 

Mr Aaron Laver joins LEH Foshan as ECA Coordinator, bringing a decade of international experience in physical education and football coaching across the UK, China, Spain, and India. Specialising in youth development, he designs and delivers dynamic programmes for students aged 3–18, including football training, PE curricula, and cultural immersion activities.   

 

His expertise in activity coordination was honed at Oxford International Junior Programmes, where he organized large-scale educational initiatives. A passionate advocate for sports philanthropy, Mr Laver has led multiple charity sporting events, showcasing his exceptional organizational abilities and team leadership.   

 

Mr Laver holds an International PGCE from the University of Derby, a Master’s in Business Analysis and Management from Loughborough University, and a UEFA C, among other professional certifications. His multidisciplinary background enables him to create enriching, well-structured extracurricular experiences that inspire students.   

Our ECA programme offers unparalleled breadth and choice in activities for our students; all of our offerings make use of the outstanding facilities and resources here at LEH Foshan and through their delivery in such inclusive and supportive environments, our ECAs are just as valuable as every other lesson in our student’s day.

LEH Foshan ECAs Programme’s greatest strength is its deliberate and expansive framework that transforms extracurricular participation from a simple pastime into a cornerstone of personal and preparatory education, equipping students with the skills, confidence, and portfolio for future success. There are 4 main categories of ECAs: The Arts & Creativity, Sports & Athletics, Clubs & Intellectual Pursuits and Wellbeing & Personal Development. 

As we move forward into the new term, with 7 student-led offerings in our secondary schedule and two more in our Prep School, not only are these students strengthening their futures, they are aiding their fellow students too. This combined with the introduction of our new “Sports Leaders Award” Programme, really does showcase the student-first approach and future planning I have tried to implement into our ECA programme. The development of key skills and unseen personal growth is something these students should be incredibly proud of.

It was incredibly important to me to create as wide-ranging and comprehensive a programme as possible, to see our students exploring and sharing their existing passions with others, as well as discovering new ones they had previously never considered.
