The House System is a time-honoured tradition of British education and the core of campus culture at LEH Foshan. Our students are divided into four Houses: Dragon, Gryphon, Phoenix and Unicorn, with students of all year groups and diverse talents integrated within each House. This vertical mentorship structure creates a cohesive community, where students live out our 8C values through teamwork and healthy competition, achieving holistic all-round development.
Looking back on this academic year, our four Houses took part in a full calendar of House competitions and fun activities, where the spirit of community shone brightly at every event.
Highlights of House Competitions
Our year-round House events officially launched on Founder’s Day in November 2025, kicking off a full calendar of House competitions and group activities. Students took part in vibrant House Music performances and energetic Founder’s Day sports tournaments, followed by a full-scale school Sports Day in December filled with group athletic challenges.
Competitions stepped up in the new year. In January, the Rugby Competition brought thrilling head-to-head matches, and March featured a contested House Football event that brought every House member together as a team.
Beyond sports and music, students also competed in House Quiz and problem-solving challenges. Every event concluded with a trophy ceremony, celebrating outstanding achievements as well as every student’s dedicated efforts.
Holistic Growth Built by the House System
The true value of our House System lies far beyond trophies and rankings. Many students consistently embody our 8C values in daily life and were honoured as 8C Spotlight Award winners. Nominated by teachers, they are recognised for consistent kindness, resilience and sense of responsibility, rather than one-off outstanding performances. Each House is guided by House Captains and House Masters, supported by a House Points scheme. Students earn points for good conduct, academic progress and active participation, and the House with the highest monthly points is awarded the House Trophy, inspiring collective pride all year round.
House Spirit: The Foundation of Every Student’s Growth
As the essence of British education, the unity, resilience and collaboration nurtured within our Houses permeate every corner of school life. This collective drive has empowered our school sports teams, including swimming, badminton and football, who delivered outstanding results in all kinds of leagues. The sense of belonging and resilience cultivated in Houses also fuels students’ achievements across academics, arts and global competitions, from the National Chinese Writing Competition to the prestigious Global Economics Competition.
Supported by the inclusive, caring environment of our House System, every student is empowered to step out of their comfort zone. Young people with different strengths and talents connect within their Houses, learn from one another through friendly competition, and build lifelong character and capabilities. In the coming academic year, we will continue to host a wide range of house events, keeping the House spirit alive and supporting every student to thrive.
