Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls at LEH Foshan

Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls at LEH Foshan

At LEH International School Foshan, we believe that education extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. Our holistic approach to learning ensures that students gain practical skills, real-world experiences, and a broader understanding of the world around them. Through a variety of trips and excursions, we provide opportunities for our students to engage with their surroundings, fostering personal growth and a love for lifelong learning.

Induction Residential Trips
It is becoming a cherished tradition at our Secondary School to start the academic year with induction residential trips. These 3-to-4-day excursions, whether exploring the local area in Foshan or venturing into neighbouring cities, are designed to break the ice and encourage students to form bonds not only with their classmates but also with peers from different year groups. These trips enhance team spirit and camaraderie, setting a positive tone for the new school year. Students also develop essential skills such as independence, time management, and teamwork. LEH School Exchanges

June 2024 marked a significant milestone with our Prep School’s inaugural trip to visit our sister school’s junior school in the UK, paving the way for more future exchanges. Plans are underway to invite students from LEH London to Foshan, fostering a cultural and educational exchange. During the 2024 trip, our students experienced a typical school day at LEH London and immersed themselves in British culture. This unique opportunity broadened their horizons and deepened their understanding of global perspectives. Click here to learn more.

Field Trips
Throughout the school year, we organise various day trips that allow students to take a break from the routine, enjoy the outdoors, and expand their horizons. Our Prep School’s Eco Trip to Zhongshan’s eco-village introduced students to sustainable living practices.

In the Secondary School, field trips are closely tied to the curriculum, offering students hands-on experiences that bring their lessons to life.

Art students visited the Nanfeng Kiln, Shiwan Ceramic Museum, and Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts, gaining inspiration and understanding of artistic traditions.

History students explored the Guangdong History Museum, connecting classroom knowledge with historical artefacts.

Economics and Business students toured a local glass manufacturer, observing production processes and learning about business operations.

English students enjoyed a day in Lingnan Tiandi, Foshan, sampling local food and culture for their journal writing tasks.

Model United Nations (MUN) students have the opportunity to participate in a regional MUN conference. This allows them to meet peers from different schools, exchange ideas, and engage in diplomatic debates, enhancing their understanding of global issues and developing their public speaking and negotiation skills.

By integrating these experiences into our educational programme, we aim to inspire students to become well-rounded individuals with a passion for learning and an appreciation for the world around them.

At LEH Foshan, learning beyond the classroom walls is a vital part of our educational philosophy. Through residential trips, school exchanges, and field excursions, we provide our students with the tools they need to succeed both academically and personally. These experiences not only enrich their education but also prepare them to become global citizens, ready to face the challenges of the future.

Future Plans and Aspirations
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming trips planned for the next academic year. These will include new destinations and activities that continue to build on our commitment to experiential learning.
