Lady Eleanor Holles International School was founded in 2021 in Foshan to provide an enhanced British education to the expatriate community in the GBA area with both day and boarding options, the first school in the city to do so.
Designed in collaboration with the school founders, Local Implementation Authority and the appointed Local Design Institute, the concept design of our architects from Scott Brownrigg captures the essence of LEH UK - providing a green, sustainable urban campus, highly engaging learning and living spaces supporting a wide range of academic, sporting and artistic endeavours.
SCHOOL DESIGN AWARD
For the LEH Foshan Campus Project, our architects, Scott Brownrigg, won the Sustainable School Design Award at the British Schools Award hosted by the British Embassy and British Chamber of Commerce China on 6th November 2021.
A Welcoming Campus
LEH Foshan enjoys a spacious, green environment and incorporates the latest thinking in school design. It offers state-of-the-art facilities include flexible, collaborative classrooms, superbly equipped science and technology facilities, specialist teaching and performance spaces for the creative and performing arts, extensive sports facilities.

Formal learning spaces, including a well-stocked library, purpose-built classrooms for various subjects and full-equipped science laboratories are arranged around atria designed to evoke delight, promote movement, interaction and informal learning, whereas the contemporary designed assembly hall, the expansive grass sports fields and 400m athletics track, the multipurposed sports hall, and the heated 6-lane 25m swimming pool give students of all abilities the opportunities to perform, to grow and to shine.
Facilities are technology enhanced and designed to take advantage of the latest educational theories – promoting collaboration, creativity, independent thinking and learning and breaking away from the traditional ‘receiver of knowledge’ mentality.
Home Away from Home
Boarding and academic accommodation is separated to promote exercise and help students maintain the balance between work, rest and play necessary for their emotional development, health and wellbeing.
When students board at LEH Foshan, they will share an en suite room with students of the same age. The modern design of the rooms will ensure they have privacy, space to work individually or collaboratively while providing the support and facilities to ensure the students need only focus upon their learning. Common Rooms in each House will ensure students have space to relax and socialise in their free time and will help integrate students and develop House spirit. While 3 meals a day will be provided in the Dining Hall, kitchenettes will allow students to make hot drinks and snacks at other times.
